Tussac Bird Cinclodes antarcticus antarcticus

Length: 18 cm ( 7 inches) Falkland Islands 'Black Bird' resident breeder.Tame ground bird, most common on outer islands which have remained without introduced predators. Feeds mainly on animal matter, along shores in the surf for marine amphipods, on insect larvae or scavenges for regurgitated feed at seabird colonies. 

Range: C. a. antarcticus is restricted to the Falklands and a smilar race C. a. maculirostris is endemic to southern Patagonia.
