White Grass Cortaderia pilosa 

White grass is the most common and dominant plant in the Falklands. It can stretch for miles over large tracts of land , giving the landscape a buff or dun colour. It is a coarse, tough grass growing in low round tussocks in damp fertile valleys, but on 'white flats', large extensive peaty areas, it is looser and and the tussocks are not so apparent.
