Bead Plant Nertera granadenis A creeping, branched, low-growing plant that forms small mats. Leaves are heart- shaped and small, this plant is easily overlooked unless it is has berries as it is often hidden in other vegetation. Flowers are tiny, pale green and develop into bright red berries which may be up to 5mm wide and remain on the plant for months. It preferrs wet rocks and soil, especially near the sea or between damp peat between tussac bogs. Native to the Falklands. Also found on neighbouring Fuegia and Patagonia.
